The outcome of your credibility interview is decided by the University of Portsmouth Pakistan Regional office. The interview is a 30 minute video call via Zoom and a recording will be retained by the University of Portsmouth for 6 years. Once you have met the English language requirement, you must complete a mandatory credibility interview. We accept IELTS, IGCSE and several other certificates, but don’t worry if you're currently short of the standard required – we offer English Language Programmes that will get you to the necessary level. The specific English language requirements will be on your chosen course page. When you join us, it’s important that you can speak and understand English to the level that your course requires. We'll consider you for a PhD if you have a good Master’s degree and submit a research proposal. If you don't meet the postgraduate entry requirements, you can do a pre-Master's programme at International College Portsmouth (ICP) for many of our courses. We also accept applications from students who have completed 2-year Bachelor's degrees, plus 2 year Master's degrees with 60% and above from recognised universities. For courses which require lower second class degrees (2:2), you will need 60% –65% or GPA 2.4 –2.6.For courses which require upper second class degrees (2:1), you will need 65% –70% or GPA 2.6 –2.8.Postgraduate coursesįor entry to our postgraduate Master's programmes, you'll usually need to have a four year Bachelor's degree from a recognised Higher Education institution: We do consider qualifications from a range of sources. You may be able to join an undergraduate course with other qualifications. We can accept applications from 60% and above for BEng (Hons) Engineering and Technology with Foundation Year. However, if you have completed Pre-Engineering or Medical Inters and scored over 80%, we may consider you for direct entry depending on the course/faculty you are applying for. Year 12-Intermediate students are generally not accepted directly into year 1. You must have studied relevant subjects and achieved strong grades. Most courses will require between 24 and 31 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB), depending on the degree you apply for.For example, to study a science course you will usually need to have achieved passing grades in scientific subjects at A level. Some courses will require you to have studied specific subjects at A level.You can use the UCAS Tariff Calculator to work out your total points. Your A level grades should equal or exceed the total points required. Please check your specific course page to find the exact number of points needed.If you've completed a foundation course, we'll consider you for admission onto an undergraduate course such as a Bachelor's degree. We recommend you take a foundation course at our associated college International College Portsmouth (ICP). If you have the Year 10-Secondary School certificate, you'll usually need to do a foundation year before doing an undergraduate course such as a Bachelor's degree.
